Hi. I've just ordered the Dear Lover CD from your online 'store' as I cannot find it available on CD in the UK yet - only on mp3 download. I'll look forward to receiving it and will save it for Christmas Eve as I have a tradition with some friends that we get together and each of us brings new CD's which (on past experience) we expect to good! Plenty to eat and drink and a great start to the festive season!
Anyway - to the message subject - we had a brief chat at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham a couple of years ago when you were supporting Josh Rouse - I had no idea that you were on the bill until I walked in the place and instantly recognized your voice! I mentioned to you that East Autumn Grin was one of my all-time favourite (English spelling!) albums.
I hope that you are planning to get over to the UK again soon? Can I recommend a great new young English band to you? I saw them last night at a VERY small venue in Sheffield. They are called The Answering Machine and they play very lively and infectious indie guitar songs with great melodies and guitar riffs and their recently released album Another City, Another Sorry is the best thing that I've heard all year - and I buy a lot of CD's. You can listen to some of the songs at http://www.myspace.com/theansweringmachine. I had a chat with the band - three guys and a girl - afterwards and they are all really nice young kids. I hope that they can stay that way when the hit the big time, as I'm sure they will. Anyway - keep up the good work and get over to the UK soon! |

Thank You so much, I hope Dear Lover lives up to your Christmas tradition.
I have a vague memory of this, I wish I could say for certain. But honestly, I was shocked how many people recognized me on that tour since I was part of Strays at the time and we were opening for Rouse. I hope to get back to the UK soon. We're working on it. Fingers are crossed. |
