According to the Mt. Stage website (mountainstage.org), MR is slated to appear for the second time on the wonderful public-radio show, with the taping of the live show on Sunday evening, 10/5/08. Anyone within driving distance of Charleston WV should definitely try to come to the show (less than 4 hours drive from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville, Roanoke, Raleigh and Charlotte NC). The taped show will eventually be broadcast roughly three months later on many NPR stations.
I really hope you play "Some Streets Lead Nowhere", Matthew! Are you bringing any of the band with you this time?
Great show by Matthew and Molly last night at Mountain Stage! Despite a few technical glitches in the mikes, and a slight tuning problem on the first pass at SSLN, they played a heartfelt set that sounded spectacular. MR's charm and easy rapport with the audience won over even those who had never heard of him before. And Matthew was gracious enough to come out and talk for a few minutes after the show (I'll have to buy you that drink next time I see ya, dude!). The songs, if I recall correctly:
American Dirt
Some Streets Lead Nowhere
Jane
Could've Been Worse
All of the performers for this radio show taping were terrific, including Joe Pug, Judith Owen, Matthew & Molly, The Alternate Routes, Katie Herzig, and Sonya Kitchell with The Slip. It appears this show is being planned for broadcast on public radio the weekend of November 7 2008, so check out the website at mountainstage.org for times and stations in your area.
